Fastest Accord in the World Build
What's up guys just wanted to share my build. This is all in my 98 Accord Coupe. My Cammed Boosted J36 stroker project. When i got this car I, knowing absolutely nothing about cars said "one day this will be the fastest accord in the world." I said that thinking that i wouldn't even do an engine swap. Well 3 motors in and two transmissions 14 months later here we are...I'm shooting for a 800whp (at least) accord. Chris Miller has done all of my tuning, CMR has picked out the majority of my kit. The good guys at j32a.com are the ones who are helping me more than anything.

I did the swap/build in my friends back yard, yes I did it with hand tools and jacks. Nothing fancy here. (I'm the only white kid). This is my old turbo build that i never installed. I decided to go pro or go home. This was for a 450whp goal. I pretty much doubled that power goal with my new setup.

Very nice build...Accord love!
You know that having 800whp doesn't necessarily make it the fastest right...lol j/k
Putting your car up to 800whp would put you up there for sure. There is a CD5 Accord on here putting 700+ to the wheels with a boosted H22. Hopefully you can reach your goals, put it all to the ground and make your Accord the fastest.
Good luck!

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
HAHA Someone might finally make more in a street driven Accord (Still, not a CD5 doe) than me after 6 years LOL.
Have fun with your transmission. I have. at 760/578, theres just no point to make more or I would have. A transmission solution is better than 4-5K alone. Stock trans will NOT last. PEriod, not with heat treated gears or any of that ****. You will get VERY good at taking them out, and putting them in and taking them out and putting them in, then you get good at rebuilding them and putting them in and taking them out and rebuilding them... Then youll want to sell it but try something else... And it wont work Then youll want to give up but wont... And you try to find a gearset solution, but theyre wont be one and youll try to get people in with 5-6 K (at LEAST) to get something rolling, but people will flake and it wont happen. Its a shitty part of the deal.
Hope it works out for yo though really. WIth all the J swaps starting to come about, youd think someone would start getting busy on the gearsets :O)
Good luck. And better get on a transmission solution NOW. ITs not going to be cheap... Ask me how I know
Ill keep tuned in
BGTW, 76mm?? LOL... ughhhhhhhhhh........ You need nothing more than a 6766 to make well over your goal.

Bigdaddy, I figured that you might chime in on this one.
Extralargenog's CD5 is the 700+ Boosted H22 CD5 I was referring to! Trust this guy when it comes to boosting stuff. I'm pretty sure he's tried it all before, and if not, he has at least thought about it!

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
0. LOL
There is one though that is a track car thats fast as ****.
AFAIK, I still have the highest WHP "Street-Accord" at least in THIS country (oretty sure anywhere, there was a thread about it a while ago)....as Ive been the only one thats enough of a dipshit to care about the chassis to do it, but then its a CD chassis, and a boat anchor 4 cyl motor... LOL.
This guys got good ideas, but the reality is that the drivetrain is not going to take anything even CLOSE to that. Ive got a 5K tranny in my car and its solid, but... I wouldnt even regularly try to push it at over 8. THeres nothing available for the J motors YET either (In a transverse FWD orientation at least)... WHich is going to be a HUGE issue for him.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
I'm not worried about putting the power down with this transmission. and yea that drag rwd "accord" isn't even an accord haha. and yea your h22 is putting down great numbers! do you have any videos of it? and to make matters worse, I'm using a much heavier chassis. Hopefully my displacement should take care of me when it comes to dyno time.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
Your transmission doesn't stand a chance. 1st time you turn it up to 600 or better and it hooks, bye bye. Every time.
I do hope you figure something out for it. You will HAVE to. Putting 2-3 in in a weekend gets very very old. Quick. Im leaving mine where its at as its reliable (With a fully built forged straightcut set in it) and building rwd Big single LSX car nao.
As I said Good luck

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
my friend is running 720whp no problem. these trannys aren't like other honda transmissions, they're damn near bulletproof. Honestly the transmission is the last thing I'm worrying about. Im more worried about my stock block holding 20 psi. And the damn cost of this fuel setup. Im gona need two 044s running from a sump. two things that are most crucial in this build is keeping the block from blowing up and not staring it of fuel. I have p&p P2R Fuel rails, -8 braided lines, ect. I'm also debating getting a 5gal fuel cell. THIS IS A STREET CAR.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
Interesting build.
F22b1 cd5 here, not too far behind my H series cd5 brethren. Trans didnt like 570wtrq @ 4900rpm and climbing though.
As said above, I see drivetrain as an issues more than power. Power alone will not get you the record but I sure hope you do well!

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
Lets hope your valve springs, retainers and cams can help this thing make the power its supposed too haha.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
i have your rotating assembly haha, if i want a 3.7 i have to bore out the block from 89mm to 90mm which is the factory limit. then i won't be able to boost it safely. so id need to sleeve it. $2200 for darton sleeves aren't in my budget rn.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
shame we dont have massive power builds here over in the uk. there is one but not many videos, found one when it had 475bhp, last tune it was at 505 i think its now getting a bigger blower and shooting for 650-700. uk horses and us are slightly different, what you tend to get at the wheels seems to work out at our flywheel figure, dont ask me why lol

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
That's probably due to external losses.
bhp, is a measurement based on the engines output without any external power losses, gear box, drive shaft, oil pump, A/C, alt, PS pump.. etc..etc.
chp, (or flywheel hp) is the measure of the engine with just it's accessories mounted, there are still no drive train losses. so it is still higher than whp.
whp, is what the engine is putting to the ground including all of the losses.
I'm still not sure why bhp is used when stating a vehicles power. I guess it is a great selling feature. When you say a car has 500bhp that definitely looks better than saying it has 400whp.
Now if you are comparing US Whp to UK Whp and they are still different that would be the correction settings on the dyno, or the different dyno's themselves. Atmospheric and climate differences also come into consideration.

Re: Fastest Accord in the World Build
Most dynos ive seen here actually have different settings for us and uk hp, as an actual option. We get a few us imports here, Ie a 500 american hp car reads close to 500 but on the uk setting it shows 450ish. Its something that's puzzled me for a while now just not actually been able to find an answer.
Alot of people look to the states for honda tuning, though even with like for like parts a boosted honda lump here doesnt make power like the us does. Though terminal speeds and times are close
