Hello,

I have a question or two about the wiring (or lack of) of the Vtec system in my 94 Accord. I'm sure this question has been answered many times but a quick forum search left me with nothing.

I bought a 94 Accord lx that had a snapped timing belt. Instead of fixing it I decided to purchase a jdm f22b vtec motor to swap into the car. I also purchased an ecu from an ex model of the same year (do I even need that)?

So what I want to know is how do you wire the vtec to the non vtec harness? And where is it? I think I found it (see pic below) but i'm not sure. The connector on the cable of what I think is the vtec solenoid is broken.

I've owned 3 Honda's (83, 89 accord & 92 civic) but this is my first vtec motor and i'm for the most part clueless. Thanks for any help.

Do I need to change the wiring harness or it there a way to hook up the vtec solenoid with the f22b2 harness?

You would just have to run wiring for from the VTEC Solenoid through the firewall to the VTEC ECU.
