f22b1 is for sure vtec. what do you mean it doesnt have a head. i see you have a 95 lx. is the f22b1 in your car on sitting in your garage?
is it a short block-just the bottom half of the engine
or is it a long block-the bottom and top half

your previous statement has left me scratching my head

lx generally had a f22b2- non vtec.
save you money and do some homework there are many options
converting a f22b2 to a f22b1 ( idon't think you can ) would be pointless just to gain 20 hp

Oh man, you got a B1 block with a B2 head. What kind of ECU are you running? Yes, you don't have VTEC, you will need a B1 head.

Ugh kinda far. But from what I can see, it is a B1 block with a B2 head. Is it external or internal coil?

You can either get a B1 head, or get a H22 or F20B head and make a hybrid motor.

What do you think would be a better choice?

Well, if you want it to work stock then put a B1, you won't get much power out of it though. If you are looking for power, then a H22 head will be better. https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...&highlight=g22

Kinda looks like an external coil in that pic and I'm counting five wires going to the cap.

This is pretty much it, no wonder why it was such a headache.

The B1 in my accord has VTEC on the valve cover and i take it almost all B1's have VTEC on it.

Your cheapest, and probably best route would be to find a B1 head, and revert everything to stock.

Alright quick school lesson. What's the difference between internal coil and external. And from a little research it shows if I keep the b2 I can add turbo etc. To it as too where the vtec is somewhat limited

how much money do you plan to spend. you need to check the condition of you engine before considering boost
