Default f22b1 into 1993 accord

okay i searched and retrieved only topics about swapping f22b1 intake mani with h22 or h23 mani and swapping the valvetrain. Anyways, I got a sweet deal on a f22b1 long block and i want to swap the f22a6 in my 1993 accord out with this one. I have done an obd2 LS---> obd1 swap for a civic and My question is:

1)would adding the vtec wiring harness be an issue? do i have to do any extending of harness or adding extra pinouts? any harness cutting and fabrication like h22 swaps?

2)Do i have to deal with obd2--> obd1 conversions like in civics?? dizzy?

3) would the axles from f22a6 fit with the f22b1? how about motor mounts? radiator?

4) any other components or tricks i need to know before attempting this swap??

Help me out HT. Thanks.

note: my car is of course an auto and so is the f22b1 but its only a longblock and no tranny.

you no it will only be like a 5 to 10 hp gain not worth the time but if you still want to do it then you will need to drop in the motor uuh you only need swap Vtec is A4 and Vtec pressure switch is D6. The black wire in the vtec pressure switch goes to ground. and if you gotta swap pins a6 and a11 cuz the POA ecu has the o2 and egr swapped if your using that ecu it will bolt up to the tranny not to sure bout the mounts though

im actually doing this same swap in my 91 accord wagon next weekend, im also staying auto except for im using an H23 auto with the shorter gears. the mounts should be fine, the axles as well, the wireing, theres a few different ways to do it, im personally using a VAFC to control vtec.

Bluac: i'm not looking for major hp gains doing this swap, i just want a reliable motor and car that'll last me another 5-6 years down the road rather than rebuilding the one i have now. i know most of you guys do swaps for hp and track cars but not me, this car will be my winter beater and mostly DD. anyhow thanks for the input.

heylookitsdylan: let me know how the h23 swap goes and any issues you run into. I'm stay away from vafc and other fuel management electronic as much as i can. I want to just wire up the vtec and ecu correctly and let that be. thanks again.

Im already using the H23 auto with my F22A6, it runs good and pretty quick for a auto with bolt ons, short *** gears. try http://www.car-part.com. I got my tranny shipped to my door for $250 and it only took 3 days.

Well Idk if anyone answered your question about the axels. But they will fit. You'll be able to use your stock tranny. The only difference between the f22b series engines and f22a series engines are v-tec. I am with the other guy though, personaly I don't think its worth the time or effort either, mostly a headache. But personaly I'm not a fan of V-tec either. I love mashing on v-tec hondas with my F22A6

so in this case, everything should bolt up perfectly except for vtec?
theres something i'm still not sure about the dizzy. My sister came over this evening (she drives an auto 95' accord) all this time i thought it was a regularly f22 motor, i pop the hood and to my surprise it was the same engine (f22b1), i looked at the dizzy and some harness plug and they look different from mine (93' accord). Also hers is internal coiled and my is external. So now i'm having second thoughts about doing this swap, and wondering if converting to internal coil would be a pain-in-t-***.

its pretty easy, i did it in my accord already, use your f22a harness and your f22a dizzy, only extra wires needed are the 3 wires for the vtec. you will have to lengthen your fuel line to the driver side of the bay, all your mounts should match up pretty close

Make sure yo use your driver side mount cause if you use the 5th gen mount you'll have to modify it! Also if you got a/c make sure you using the braket off the f22Ax motor and alternator too! Good luck.
