f22b1 to f23a1 swap 94 accord ex
 

i was curious if anyone knows if you can simply swap all the obd1 sensors onto the engine, and intake manifold to get the car running under the obd1 ecu? Some say its possible and some say its not. I understand f23 is obd2, but the sensors bolt on the same and everything matches up so i dont see any reason why it wouldnt run right, other than it wont run to its full potential until tuned or beefed up?

((BTW this is just to get my car moving again until my h22 build is complete and i do not have a obd2 ecu)).. Using the same ecu the car was made with 94 accord ex stock with the f22b1 vtec. f23 is also vtec..

Any suggestions?

You would have to use the 94 dist. and IACV (with adapter), and probably the 94 EGR. Reroute some vacuum lines and wiring, but I don't see why not.

My 94 accord had a 2.2l of some kind in it. I always thought that was a more powerful engine. My car has a 98 f23a1 and im not sure why. Obd1. I never got to feel the 2.2 but the 2.3l is seriously underpowered the a/c almost kills it at idle. Were you able to find a fix for lack of power? I know for a fact it works i drive it every single day and i have no converns besides low idle and lack of low end power. The gear range is bad ass for my stage 2, just takes too long to climb through tge rpms. Any fix ideas besides more HP? Or is that the only option in this type of set up?

Also my ccomputer is non vtec and my vtec solenoid isnt wired into the car, i have plans to run it and even installed new thermostat and vtec solenoid. I have concerns since i have to run the wire.

It was not difficult to change the F22B1 to an F23A in a 94-95 car. When I did it, I reused the 95's intake manifold complete with IACV, the distributor, and the thermostat neck. I had also done a TB and removed the crank sensor from down there because it wasnt useful in my situation. I cant say what is necessary through to do F22B2, since therre is extra wiring for vtec stuffs. I reused as many of the sensors as I had since I was trying to spend least amount of time getting it in there. I think at the moment my only problem is the engine is slightly running rich and since I did a big3 upgrade, cannot understand why the battery wont hold a charge even with a 26ma draw.

I noticed the same thing, i upgraded my battery as big as i could and it worked good. I thought it was a draw but it wasnt fully charging due to low rpms. I manually turned the rpm up qnd started charging.
