Engine Code P1166 & P1167 2002 Accord SE/EX

2002 Accord SE/EX

New to the forums, and not much of a mechanic, just trying to avoid being taken for a "ride".

I also have the same two codes. I brought it to a local mechanic. He replaced the O2 sensor (front) and he said the light wouldn't go off. SO he put the old sensor back on, and recommended Honda look at it.

Went to Honda today. They hooked up their $15,000 diagnostic computer and got the same two codes. The guy told me that it's the secondary rear CAT-mounted sensor. He also recommended 2 new CAT shields.

Every forum that I have crawled and all the compiled codes from various Honda users say it's the primary O2 sensor (front) based on the code list.

Is Honda giving me the wrong codes?

Any advice?

Both codes are indicating a problem with the Primary sensor HEATER CIRCUIT.

As far as the Honda dealer mis-diagnose....you could call the Service Manager and ask for an explaination.

My observations; As per J D Powers surveys; the american people want cheaper main't/repair costs, therefore the manufacturer cuts the tech flat rate pay to make the main't/repair cost less.

Results;
The dealership pays peanuts and can only hire monkeys.
