Default Transmission Leak?

Hey guys my car has been leaking and I am trying to figure out what exactly it is. I am guessing it's the transmission correct me if I am wrong because the oil pan is brand new and has no leaks around it. The weird thing is that around the car further up there is dried oil but I changed the valve cover gasket and that might have been the cause of that oil. But further below it is still leaking. I can't figure out what exactly it is. Here are some pictures.

That looks like oil? Or really old auto trans fluid, or is this a manual trans.....missing some information here?

Does this have vtec?

Is this an auto or manual?

It's an automatic with an F22B2. I believe it is the transmissions because that's where the leaking is occurring. When I park my car there is a small 1-2cm in diameter leak on the ground The oil pan was changed about a month ago and there is nothing on it. If it's not the transmission it has to be something around the distributor that is leaking and going onto the transmission then onto the ground.

I want to say I had a similar issue after switching to full synthetic oil and it turned out to be the main seal..? looks like its coming from the transmission but actually just above it or something? After a while it stopped leaking though, did you just change your oil/ switch to synthetic?

Last time....oil leaks down. In that area there are a few things in play...if it is oil and not trans fluid. Dist o-ring, dist shaft seal, vtec leak or rear main.....by the pic, again, that is either really old trans fluid (change it) or engine oil....or re-take the pic and use a white paper towel......

I cleaned the engine yesterday and the transmission. I am currently changing the engine and transmission oil. The reason that I do not know if it is the transmission leaking or not is because the oil is not red as how transmission oil should be. As you can see from the original pic with the oil on the paper towel it is yellow/brownish. If it is leaking from the engine I think this could be the fix. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/how-replace-internal-seal-distributor-internal-oil-leak-2214402/ Because the area below that is the transmission.

Well I just changed my engine oil and I am in the process of changing the transmission oil. I do not believe the transmission oil has ever been changed, I could be wrong. Should I perform a transmission flush? I tried to find something regarding this online but to no avail have I been having any kind of luck with flushing an automatic transmission.

Do a few (three) drain and fill cycles with Honda Trans fluid...of course drive a few miles between changes.....and you will be fine.

Car is leaking and it is not the transmission. The fluid is coming down from the transmission side and it is oil and a golden brown, not red. I am guessing it is either the seal in between the transmission and engine or the distributor seal. What else could it be around there? It is a F22B2 so it doesn't have VTEC for it to be around the VTEC solenoid.

I have a similar leak on my 96 accord. Mine is leaking where the tranny and engine bolt. I had the rear main seal replaced a few months back. A diagnosis was performed and the shop recommended the rear main seal. The leak is still there. I have since replaced the upper vtec solenoid gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, timing kit. . I was thinking it could be the engine oil that has caked on the top of the engine. Haven't been able to confirm.

Yes mine is leaking there. I recently cleaned my engine bay as much as I could and I changed the transmission and engine oil. Now when I park there are like multiple spots of oil dripping. Before it was just one or two. I am guessing it is leaking from somewhere in the middle and falling down because the top of the engine is completely clean but above the transmission on the side of my engine there is old oil caked on there but it there is also some fresh oil around it. It has to be engine oil because mine is not red it is golden brown. How long did it take you to change your rear main seal and how hard was it? Have you tried this; https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2214402

The area below the distributor a little bit to the left has some old oil build up but I can also see fresh oil there. I am thinking it is something around there but don't know exactly what to take off and check. But in the that rough general vicinity-yes.

Well, could be the dist o-ring....Could be the dist seal-this can be confirmed by pulling the dist cap and look if is coming from inside the dist vs the outside. Of course there is still the vc gasket......

You say you changed the oil pan, which is a weak spot for leaks on the B2. Mine smells of burning oil a bit due to a drop hitting the pipe under the pan so I'll be changing that out soon too. In your case it sure looks like distibutor seal from the pix. I hope it's not the rear main because that's a much bigger job. As thePoorman posted mentioned could also be valve cover gasket. I think you need to degrease that as much as you can first and track it down. Keep us informed.

Well the oil pan is definitely clean and has no oil around it. I already changed the valve cover gasket because initially it looked like there was a leak around there and it is fine now. So the internal seal of the distributor? Like the link I posted in my previous post?

I had a similiar leak on my 94 accord non v tec engine. It turned out to be the o ring on the distributor itself that goes into the engine block.

Yes I did that and now it doesn't leak like before but I still get a few spots every once in a while. Would that be from build up of oil from before?
