effects of altitude on acceleration?
1995 Accord EX: 2.2L(2156cc), F22B1, MPFI, SOHC 16-valve (Canadian:EX-R)
question: i just moved from a low altitude region to denver, colorado. what adjustments can be made so that my car isn't so sluggish when accelerating?
thanks!

There shouldn't be any need for adjustments because the barometric pressure sensor is supposed to know the difference, and tell the ECU to wise up to the higher altitude.

Hondadude is right. Smart.

Air/fuel ratio & engine controls are all good.
But the lack of power is just life. Can't do anything about it (install a turbo?).

The MAP sensor will adjust the air/fuel mixture according to barrometric pressure, however, there is less oxygen at higher altitudes. The size of the throttle body is fixed, so less oxygen per gulp of air will mean less fuel mixed with it and, consequently, a little less power.

The percentage of oxygen in the air doesn't change much, but the overall amount of air is less. So the engine can't suck in as much air. Just like you can't suck in as much air when you breath.
So it's not just less oxygen, its also less nitrogen & everything else.

when you got less air, you got less air, the ecu can do slight adjustment but ultimately it can't change the fact that it got less air
