Oil Light flickerined and engine Running Hot
For some background; on Saturday I removed some sludge from my rocker assembly and head with a vacuum and a toothbrush. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/oil-leak-near-timing-belt-cover-2815920/
Tonight the car is running very hot and the oil light started flickering. Oil level is between the marks and coolant level is normal. I'm hoping its a clogged screen and not something worse, but it doesn't look good. Am I right in thinking that because my temp went nearly to red that I'm pretty much screwed? I'm going to pull the pan, clean the screen and run some Seafoam, but I think I just wasted a weekend working on a lost cause or, worse yet, killed it with kindness.
Also I'll pick up an oil pressure gauge and get an actual reading.

Re: Oil Light flickerined and engine Running Hot
Could also be worn bearings causing your low oil reading. It could also be the sending unit - get the gauge and check... you are on the right track.
It should not be overheating regardless of the oil pressure. Figure this out first.
I have had my 92 go red twice (hoses) and the engine was fine - no oil consumption afterward, good compression, etc. Don't give up yet... it might just be a bad thermostat heating your oil too thin.
