Dismantling AC system what to do with evaporator?
I gave up at least for this year. So I am taking everything away. I had to leave the plastic thing from the evaporator to connect the air blower to the vents.
the problem is that when I took the evaporator, I noticed it acted as a kind of filter because it was littered with leaves. Is there anything I can do to the evaporator plastic cage so it can stop things getting to the vents?

Keep the outside of your vent clean and clear of debris and you will eliminate most if not all solid debris from getting in.
BTW, those are fins from the evaporator core and are not trash filter for your A/C system.

I know! I was surprised about finding that dirt in there. Thanks for the advice. I still would like to put some barrier between blower and Vents
