Dash lights and tail lights out on '97 accord

I get the car this evening, turn on the lights and the no dash lights. Head light arre on, interior lights are on, turn signals work, brake lights work, but no tail lights or dash lights. Are the dash lights and tail lights on the same circuit? Could it be the dash dim switch? Ive put in a new aftermarket stereo ~ 3months ago if that has any baring. Ideas?

yup its the small light fuse under the hood. if it keeps blowing check your stereo wiring, thats what the problem was for me

Nope. The small light fuse is fine. I checked the fuse and replacd it with a new one. The stereo wiring could cause this?

when i put a cd player in my accord it blew it. i never got around to figuring out why it blew it, but i think one of the spare wires in the harness was touching something metal.

I've checked the fuses, bulbs and stereo wiring. Does anyone have any other ideas?

https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif in situations like this you have3 to check all your wiring...my Eg had serious issues I turn on my CD paly loose all my lights except front..took a couple hours REPLACING ALL fuses and cgoing over wires to realize I was shorting the sytem by a metal to wire contact...just takes time dood

Re: Dash lights and tail lights out on '97 accord (I got the CD5 Jeebies!)

Well I finally gave up and took the car to the repair shop. $80 later I findout I have a loose connection. I drive down the road 3/4 of a mile and off go the tail lights and dash lights. I stop and jiggle the blue connect to the left of the steering wheel and they come back on. Anyone know how to make this copnnection more solid?
