Default Cranks, cuts off, cranks, cuts off, cranks, cuts off...

Alright, so i'm totally confused. Recently my Accord ('97 DX) has been having problems starting. But it's only been when it's unusually warm outside (like today, 80 in April, or 75 in the end of March). Today for example. I get up to go to school (10:30) and it starts just fine, no problems after having been sitting out for about 14 hours. I get to school and park.

3 hours later at the end of the day I go back to my car. It cranks over just fine but suddenly cuts off. I turn the key back all the way and try again. Same thing. This happens about 6 more times before it finally starts. I've used different tricks such as no pressure on any pedal, brake to the floor, light gas when starting, etc.. but nothing really helped.

I drive from school, to a friends house, to community college (without stopping) and arrive at about 3:30. An hour later I get outside...same damn problem. Cranks, cuts off, cranks, cuts off...

Any opinions on this matter? I have a feeling it's either the air filter or the ignition system. I tried to take off the airbox to check the filter, but the screws are so rusted and the heads are so gouged up that I can't take 'em off with the tools I have at home. Any opinions or advice is graciously welcomed. T.I.A.

Edit: I've determined that weather outside is a definate factor in this. From 6:00pm to 10:30am the car sat and started up fine. From 10:45am to 2:30pm the car sat and took 6 tries to start. From 3:30pm to 4:45pm the car sat and took 5 tries to start. From 6:00pm to 7:15pm the car sat and started on the first try.

Anyone? Anyone at all?

sounds like the main relay is going bad. it is above steering column on right side.

Wasn't there also a recall on the ignition switch for that year? Call the dealership.
