Icon4 Clutch Pedal Pulls/Sucks Itself to Floor While Driving

1995 Honda Accord EX - Manual
-----------------------------------

SYMPTOMS:
Clutch operates normally 80% of the time.
Other 20% of the time I'll be mid gear change with the clutch pedal slightly pressed or even all the way down and the pedal with PULL/SUCK itself to the floor. When this happens the clutch engages, leaving me in gear with a pedal stuck to the floor. I can then pull the pedal up with my foot and resume driving normally 80% of the time.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
I see no leakage in the master/slave cylinders or line, but I'm new to this so what do I know. Bled the fluid just to be sure that wasn't it, no change.
I checked and the pushrod area looks clean.
The slave cylinder looks very old and rusted and there is no cap on the bleed valve.
The intermittent nature of this issue is weirding me out. PLEASE HELP!

MY PLANNED NEXT STEPS:
Watched Eric the car guy's video on how to change master/slave clutch cylinders and can get them for $83 on Amazon, but want to be sure that's the next best logical step before I pull the trigger and spend a weekend doing this.

Thanks!

Could pull the old CMC out and inspect it. Kind of hard to get a proper look at things under the dash.
If the seal is failing or has junk caught on the lip the pedal would floor, like a BMC. Since the the seal is designed for pressure one way, when you pull the pedal back up it may just draw the fluid that has leaked past the seal back through. Although I would suspect some leakage or wetness around the CMC dust boot.
I would suggest removing the CMC, and over a bucket remove the dust boot. If there is wetness or fluid inside the bellow, you have found your leak.
