Default clock and radio problem! so confusing...

1990 Accord EXR

Original situation:

I have no radio, the vehicles wire harness is cut, and my clock works...

New Situation:

Solder on a new wire harness. plugged in my deck, and now i have sound!

but now the clock does not exist

also, everytime the car is off for longer than 15 mins or so, the radio completely resets itself, all the preset stations are gone!

anybody?

Not necessarily.

I had a weird similar situation when I did exactly what you did, soldered back on a harness.

Mine was called "Backup Radio/Antenna" or something along those lines.

Take a real good look at both interior and under-hood panels. I looked at them like 3 times before I asked HT and sure enough I missed it.

Did you check the backup fuse in the engine bay? If everything is wired correctly, I would suspect that is your problem.

ah yes! you guys are correct....

i noticed the 7.5 amp fuse was blown underneath the hood..so i will replace that and let you know if i get my clock back...and if the radio doesnt reset everytime...

on a sdie note...

rght beneath the 7.5 amp radio fuse...there is a fuse for a "small light" (as it is listed on the fuse box panel)...what is that for...

its suppose to have 20 amps...but mine only has 15amp....i will also change that to 20....but what is it for?

it has to do with the parking lights i do believe... maybe interior lights too.
