Default Wont go out of 1st gear!

Ok so when the car is in D4 or D3 the car will not get out of first gear at all, rpms will get to 6000 and nothing happens. I can shift to 1 and then 2 when driving with no problems. There is a rattle sound under the car when it is shifted into D4, D3, 2, or 1, when at a stop but no rattle in neutral, reverse, and don't remember right now about park. When it drives it is smooth. The speedometer doesn't work at all, and have to go get the codes off for the check engine light. Also ABS comes on after about ten mins of driving. I know the CV axel half shaft on the driver side needs to be replaced (the rubber covering boot at the cv end at the trany is ripped off), have it just haven't gotten to replace it because I can get the axel nut off. Please any ad all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, and if you guys need more info just ask and will give it. Also, AUTOtrany, vtec. Will put the codes up shortly.

Ok also forgot to say the D4 light never comes on. Here are the codes.

1st code (9short) long pause,2nd code (1 long, 2 short)long pause,

3rd code(1 long,7short.)
CYP sensor EGR lift sensor VSS

But would this have anything to do with the above problem? also the ABS light blinked once after each code, but when they repeated no ABS blinking.
The vacuum hose isn't on the EGR, I have eight a vacuum leak or a solenoind gone bad. The VSS I know doesn't work, the speedometer doesn't work at all.
And have no idea what the CYP sensor is.
Any help would be great!

CYP a cylinder position sensor located in the distributor housing.

The EGR code is caused by the vacuum line being disconnected. But, you already know that. I posted in another thread, the control valve sounds like it's getting stuck.

The trans not shifting could be a misadjusted kickdown cable. Could be a problem in the transmission itself. Hard to tell without having the car to examine.
