Changed Plugs, Where is all this oil coming from?
 

I just changed the spark plugs in my 93 EX. I've never worked on a car that you had to go through the valve cover to get to the plugs, so this may be normal, but I'm not sure. When I pulled the wires out the bottom half of each was covered with oil. There was oil standing about an inch or more deep around the top of each plug. I took some pics to show what I found. Is this normal because they go through the valve cover?

This is the first wire as I pulled it out, oil was draining out of it and off it too

What do you guys think?

you need to change your spark plug tube seals. Since you gotta take the valve cover off, why not buy the whole kit and change all the parts in the kit? It's like $30 from your local dealer.

more than likely it is the rocker orings, they tend to dry up and thin out and let oil pass by them which gets all over the plugs. THIS HAPPENS ALOT ON THE OLDER ACCORDS. I can pretty much guarantee this is your problem. When you replace the rocker orings youll have to buy a valve cover kit as well. It comes with the vcg , tube seals and valve cover grommets.
