Default Car will not crank at times?

Hey anyone had this problem?

I have a 1998 EX accord with a 4 cylinder engine.

Every once awhile I will get in my car and try to start it and it will not crank over I turn the key to start position and nothing the car does nothing! I turn the key off and back on and it cranks over normal and starts!

Sometimes I will have to turn the key off and on once, sometimes 6 six times, sometimes 12 times, and yet other times it starts first try!

When I first turn the key to accessory the check engine light goes on like normal and then the PFI relays click closed check engine light goes out and the fuel pump cycles like normal so I know all that is working normal.

I was talking with one fellow and he suggested it might be the switch at the back of where the key goes in it might not be closing properly?

Anyone had any experience with this type of problem and or a solution?

Thanks a million guys!

Check the battery connections are clean and tight. Verify that the battery is holding a full charge. It could be that the ignition switch is failing. Only real way to tell would be to check the switch for continuity when it does not work.

^ Right there about the battery terminals connection to the battery posts.

Mine did the same sh*t. Both post looks clean on the outside when looking but once you remove them and look on the inside, there's a gray coat that is causing a poor connection. High Resistance.

The Battery cables are all good clean and tight I check those long time ago to rule it out.

Where is the ignition switch located?

Thx

If a fuse was blown the car would not run at all not? The car runs and starts. The past Four times I have driven it no problems cranking of running.
