a/c compressor noise under acceleration..
car: 1996 Civic CX 185k D16Y7 Slushbox
problem: the other night i decided to try out my a/c by putting on a new pulley/belt and hoping the compressor works. i was lucky and the air blows cold but now i've ran into another problem. its working fine and still blowing cold but when i accelerate and in about 3rd gear, i'm assuming (40-55 mph, auto tranny), theres a loud screeching noise that goes away once i turn off the a/c. belts are still good, just sounds like that new timing belt noise if anyone knows what i'm talking about. it goes away once i turn it off and turn it back on, air still works fine and blows cold i just have no idea where the noise is coming from and would like to get rid of it as it is really loud. any help is appreciated, thanks.

1. You are in the wrong forum.
2. It sounds as if the belts are on too tight. My belt's once did that I and I loosened them and now it's quiet.
3. Another thing I have tried is putting a little vaseline on some of the belt grooves. I don't recommend this, but it is something I did and worked for me.
