Brake caliper- Akebobo vs. Nissin

I've needed to replace my rear calipers on my 94 Accord EX for over a month. Every mechanic I called quoted me $199 each for the parts, so I'm ordering them myself. I've had a total nightmare trying to get someone to ship me the correct part with new brcakets and pins, and nobody in my town stock them for me to look at for a reasonable price. For the record, the lowest price I can find is $92 each for calipers with the brackets and pins. I've had multiple companies swear they have the brackets on there for less, but invariably I end up sending them back.

My question is- I know there are two versions of the rear calipers for the 94EX, Akebono and Nissin. The ones I'm going to order now don't specify which, but in my experience with this particular reman company, they will probably be Nissin. I have no idea what is on my car, but even if I found out, nobody seems to specify which kind when ordering the part. Does it make any difference at all who made the original brakes? Will the new Nissin calipers when and if (god willing) they arrive fit even if Akebono was there before? Someone please help me-I'm so sick of ordering and returning parts. Thanks!!

i hav never heard nor seen a rear disc 5th gen accord having anything but nissin brakes on teh rear.i have heard of the diff for the frotn brakes though.

easiest way to see what brakes you got is look at teh markings ont eh caliper itself. usually it will say nissin.

I've got rusted out nissins on there, but I just don't want to have to return akebonos or 3rd party akebono style because they won't fit. But everyone is saying it shouldn't be a problem or there's nissins only for the rear, so I'm going to order the parts for the fourth time and cross my fingers.

The other thing is I had to beg to find a shop that will put them on for me since I have no room and have never done it before, and I don't want any guff about bringing the wrong part and end up driving with shaking brakes forever. If I had the money, I would have given up by now and bought myself a $700 brake job.
