99 Accord Transmission Problems? Help me diagnose
Guys: My sister is driving a '99 accord 4-cyl with 110 k on it. She is calling me and describing the problem but I have yet to drive it.
SHE SAYS: "the car drives fine when shes at speed down the highway, but its acting up when shes stoping and going" she said it kinda of hesitates when she trys to accelerate from a stop. She also said that the problem happens right after she decelerates and then goes to accelerate again. She said she can "feel when it clicks in and fixes itself"
MY THOUGHTS: sounds to me like a shift soleniod is sticking and wont drop down into first gear from time to time like it needs to. Does this this sound right? Doing a quick google search it seems like this is a problem with these trannys and the filter and solenoids get clogged up with clutch material....
MY Question: If this is true, would it be beneficial to do a tranny flush?? Maybe save the tranny before its toast by getting the filter unclogged and gunk out of there? Or is it too late for the tranny?
