Default Sandy grinding noise coming from steering wheel ... what does it mean???

I just installed an AP1 Steering wheel into my '96 Accord LX. It looks and feels awsome! The only issue is when I turn the steering wheel either direction, there is a sandy, scraping sound coming from it. It did not do it before when I had the original wheel on it. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how I would go about solving the problem. Thanks!

Its a grinding sound coming from the steering wheel. It started after I put the steering wheel in today. The original steering wheel didnt do it at all. Im just trying to see if there is a cure for it.

Go ahead and ship it to me and Ill install it in my 96 and we'll see if it still does it. In all seriousness I wonder if maybe the plastics from the steering column cover is touching the steering wheel? Have you checked all clearances in that area?

did you use a adapter, or detachable hub? either way it does sound like its rubbing on some mettle.

It's an S2000 Steering wheel. No adapter needed.

its probably the cable reel for the airbags. is it coming from the inside, or the outside? if you cant see anything obvious thats probably all it is.

It's coming from the inside. How would I go about repairing it?
