Default Replacing cylinder head bolts

I recently read somewhere that you should replace the cylinder head bolts when doing a 'head gasket' job. Last week I picked up my F22B2 head (pressure test and valve job) and the shop owner said I would not have to replace the head bolts.

Any opinions out there on this matter?

Thanks,

Mike

IMO, stock set up...no major damage done, no need to replace the head bolts.

A lot of people seem to think that they are torque to yield. However this is a misconception. I have never seen or read any thing to prove this to be true for the Honda head bolts. IMO they can be reused as long as there are no nicks or burs in them. Soak them in oil over night before you put them back in the engine. Torque them in sequence as prescribed in the manual.

The only reason why you would have to change them is if they have been over torqued.. On some cars it is recommended to change them but on Honda Accord you do not have to and I did not.
