Accord 2001 2nd gear pressure switch
Hey Guys,
Need some help, I have a 2001 Honda Accord 4dr. EX, how do I tell which pressure setting switch I need. I have a code P-1738. I search on Ebay and noticed that there were several different pressure settings.
I don't know which one to purchase. The connector on the origional one is black if that will help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Accord 2001 2nd gear pressure switch
If you go to internet Honda dealer sites like Bernardi Honda Parts, Honda Parts Now, etc., you can look up the Honda part numbers. You can use the number for OEM parts and to cross-reference to aftermarket.
The 2nd clutch pressure switch for a 4 cylinder EX is Honda part number 28600-P6H-003. That is the one higher up on the transmission and with a Blu/Blk wire.
But a trouble code only does not necessarily mean that the switch is bad.

Re: Accord 2001 2nd gear pressure switch
Ok, thanks. Now I feel stupid, I ordered one from a Honda dealer on Ebay, but it had the green connector which did not correspond with the old switch and indicated a higher pressure setting.
So, I quess I'll reorder. The transmission is shifting a little rough into 2nd gear, and the code popped up as P-1738.
Thanks for your help.

Before you go ordering a new part, pull the old sensor out. Verify it is not gummed up with slurry/clutch material inside, and check the wiring harness for damage, loose/corroded connections.
