Hi, i'm a new member and have own a honda accord 2.2 type r vtec.
I have had the car for 2 years now without no problems, it has always been serviced and very well looked after.
Jus recently my engine management light has come on and my vtec only works sometimes...
Can any one shed some light on what the problem is or how i can fix it.

by engine management light I assume thats the same as a CEL (check engine light)? If so, did you get the code read thats it being stored in the ECU?

Also, the engine you have is a H22A7 right?

yes its the CEL thats on...
how and where can i check this...

That should be an OBD2 system so you need a scanner to read the code. I assume you are not from the states right? In the states some parts stores will rent out or even read the codes for you for free.

go get the code read and if the person that reads it for you cant tell you what it is, post it here, i have a list of all OBD2 codes.

i'm from the Uk, we can get accords in type R here.
I will get the car checked and will put the code on forum so you can let me know what the problem is...
