98 won't start
1998 Accord LX sedan, auto. Drove to get some food the other day; came out half an hour later and the car wouldn't start. Engine doesn't turn over at all; it clicks once when I try to start it. Electrics work fine and I tried jumping it just in case - didn't help. AAA dude said that its not the starter because then the click would be really loud and easily audible outside the car, while mine clicks quietly (maybe its just the ignition clicking?). Any ideas?

Re: 98 won't start
ruled out the starter by the volume of the "click...?" wow.
try moving the gear selector to neutral and starting it. if there's a problem with the Park position the starter interlock won't let you complete the circuit.

I thought it was weird too... I don't know anything about electrics though
Tried it - nothing changed.

ok. test for voltage from the ignition switch. if good, check voltage at the starter solenoid. both times, check when the key is in the start position.
sorry i don't have more wire info for you. i may be able to add some later

Re: 98 won't start
Took the starter and battery to autozone for a free check. Battery was good and they charged it up for me. Starter tested fine (although they couldn't get a good connection on the solenoid) but the guy spun it by hand and it sounded horrible; showed me a new one and it was a lot better; starter bearings are shot.
That said, it was a pain to take out. The two bolts holding it on wouldn't come out; had to take the metal battery tray out to get a better angle at it. I read somewhere on here that someone had to remove the radiator hose and intake too, but I left both of those in place.
Thanks for the help!
