97 F22B JDM automatic transmission.
 

I just got my transmission from JDM today. Noticed it has an external TR sensor for the PRNDL and my wagon has it in the console. I realize gear ratios will be different but are the other sensors compatible? Will my TCM shift it right or will I need to do some wiring? I already have a JDM engine and changed it over to OBD2 crank/cam sensor and oil pump. 1997 Accord wagon F22B had a BOYA trans.

If the transmission is an MPJA, then it came out of an Odyssey which has the external gear selector switch.
JDM H4A(90-97) transmissions have compatible sensors/solenoids with USDM. Its the 98-02 cars that have the different connections.

Thank You!!! I got it swapped out today. Wasn't all that bad compared to the Ford atuff I normally work with. I had to switch the flex plate the converter bolts to, good thing I checked it before I installed the trans. Holes don't line up. A few adjustments Monday and it's done.

Mad_Mike would you know if my left axle is different than what a odyssey uses. It didn't look like it went in all the way. I'm gonna try and see if maybe it popped back out while I was putting the engine mounts back in place.

It does IIRC.
Unlike other AT cars that may have one long shaft and a short shaft, the Ody uses the same system as on MT cars with a jack shaft and then the outer(shorter) CV axle.
But this would not have any affect on the Accord as the transmissions are the same externally, save for a few brackets.
The Left axle is always a PITA for me. Unlike the right axle which can be easily removed/installed, the left tends to be a bit finickier in removing and seating. If the axle is original or a high mile unit, I would replaced the circlip on the transmission end. It can sometimes lose its springiness and no longer keep the axle locked in place. Honda dealer has them for ~$3.
FWIW, have a '95 EX Coupe, 70MPH @3000rpm, 80MPH @ 4000rpm. Coupe gets ~29MPG. I would prefer if 4th was more conservative gear, but being able to just barely roll into the throttle and pass most without a downshift is nice.

Cool, I went ahead and ordered tie rods, rack boots, and sway bar end links. 29mpg is the reason I am keeping this wagon. I drive 60 miles round trip to work and back, almost traded in on a Fiesta. The Fiesta doesn't do much better on mileage and doesn't have the room this wagon does. 250k on the odometer, should go another 200k or so I'm hoping.

Got the axle back in, rack boots and tie rods done. I had to pull the console apart to adjust the shift cable got it spot on. Went for a drive to get the car warmed up to finish it up. The damn radiator cracked a tank so I got one ordered $40 can't beat that. 65mph @ 2800 rpm not bad at all.

I like it so far. It started shifting smoother as I drove. It will be getting drove 60 miles a day till I decide to give it back to the wife. Hell I may look for one for myself to fix up.

New radiator in, fixed a all the leaks nice and dry under the car now. My speedometer is off by 8mph or so. Will I have to swap the VSS out of the old transmission? Feels like it needs to downshift sooner as well. Got a slight delay on 4th engagement hopefully will work out of it. Put about 200 miles on it so far seems to be doing great.

1-2MPH maybe, but 8, no way. That is either a dirty VSS or loose/dirty connection. VSS can be take apart and the disc inside cleaned. Or just pop off your original VSS and pop it onto the new trans.
If the shifts are delayed, pull the NM/NC sensors on the right side cover and make sure they are clean.
Verify the TV cable is properly adjusted. With the throttle closed there should be no slack or pretension on the cable.
Verify the TPS output voltage is smooth and linear.

Ya GPS showed it at 53 mph speed was on 60. The car this trans came out of may have different size tires? I'll try and swap out the sensors next week.

VSS works by having 12V power, ground, and a 5V output reference that goes to the TCU/ECU and gauges.
If it it outside of the 0-5V reference with an over voltage, the speedo may then read wrong.

Great link! The more I think about it the gear ratio is probably the cause. She won't give it back to me yet to check it out. The little shit hauls ass though, quicker take off. I was looking through Transtar catalog, seal kits are not that expensive. Hopefully no hard parts are destroyed. I will open up the old one when my bench is clear.

Opened up the old BOYA 1st and 2nd clutch pack burnt. Will open up valve body Monday.

Hey so I got a question! Might have bit off more than I can chew. I have a 97 Accord lx stock f22b2 auto trans. Blew it up. I bought a JDM F22B with auto trans. Was told it is a direct swap and go. Definitely doesn't seem to be true anymore. Am I better off just getting a ecu and wire harness for the JDM motor or is it possible to splice a bit and get these connections right?!?! Thanks in advance

Did you purchase a SOHC or DOHC F22B?
What is the letter code on the barcode sticker on the transmission?
F22B DOHC came in the 1996-2001 JDM Preludes and if it is an AT it probably is the M6HA which is found in the USDM 98-02 Accords.

All I wanted to know is how to go about the range sensor on the trans to the one on my Accord? This is the only thing holding me back and can't seem to find any info on it. Please and thank you guys!

Strange, I have used MPJAs in both the 95 and 97. Never had a problem with the shift solenoids or NM/NC sensors needing to be replaced.

If the connectors are different, can you just pull your original trans solenoids/sensors and just use those?

I had the wagon in for it's first oil change and two new cooling fans. While I had it down I swapped speed sensor from the old trans. Big difference in shift times, and speedo only off 2-3 mph.

If your old trans don't have a external PRNDL it's in the console. I just left the one on the trans alone and adjusted the one in the console. I also swapped my single cammer over to OBD2 had to get a new oil pump so my old crank and cam sensors would bolt up.I had to use my distributor too.

Update! Car has been OK up till now. The O'reilly left axle I bought came apart so I replaced it with a brand new one. Not even 2 days later the ball joint (replaced last year) broke. The ball came out of the socket and ripped the inner CV joint out. 2nd time I've had to have it towed to the shop. Am I missing something during the install? Maybe the ball joint got damaged when the axle first broke? Are there provisions to use the jackshaft style axle in place of this long one? HELP! I'm about to sell this shitbox.

What brand did you use?
Jackshaft/intermediate shaft just bolts to the firewall side of the block. All F22s have the provision for the bracket. Just clean out the threaded holes before installing.
95-97 Honda Odyssey did use a jackshaft to prevent torque steer, not sure if it is the same as the MT car jackshaft.
