97 Accord won't start but starter motor is spinning
97 Accord 5 speed won't start but starter motor spins when I turn the key. No stripped gears or teeth. Old starter did the same thing so I thought a new starter would fix the problem....nope...same problem. BTW, its a 98 Prelude engine and tranny (Manual non-SH). Any thoughts??

If you hear the starter spinning but the engine is not cranking over, I'd pull the starter and take a close look at the teeth of the flywheel.
In the past I've taken them to the local machine shop and had the ring gear shifted, the honda 4cyl engine stops in 2 different places, and wears out the teeth in those certain spots.

I'm not suggesting the starter gear is bad, What I said is;
"You can remove the starter and look thru the hole to see the flywheel teeth."
Or turn the crank a little bit to see if the starter will engage.
Also there is a cover plate underneath that can be removed easily to see the flywheel teeth.
If you remove the starter you can test it from the battery with jumper cables to be sure the bendix kicks out.
Be sure of the problem BEFORE you go dropping the trans out.
