CV Axle came out after castle nut came off ball joint
It's a 91 Accord
While driving my castle nut came off my ball joint, I had it towed but a new castle nut on the old ball joint drove it a few hundred miles and then the castle nut fell off again and the rubber part of the axle came off the part of the axle that goes into the transmission.
My question is do I need a new CV axle or can I just fix the one I have? I have changed the upper and lower ball joints and the tie rod end.

Generally if the boot tears or comes off the CV axle then you need to consider the piece junk. The grease gets contaminated and accelerates the wear of the load bearing surfaces precipitously.

IMO, you could regrease the joint and then put a new boot on it and it should be fine, it wasn't run long enough with bad grease to be a problem. I would recommend this if you have OE axles since the OE CV joints are much better quality than an aftermarket one.
On the other hand, if its an aftermarket axle, it might not cost much more just to buy the whole thing. Just be prepared for abysmal quality and vibration problems.

I've heard good things about Raxles brand CV shafts, but I can speak from experience, even new cvs from advance oreillyzone can have balance issues.

Eeehhh...I think Cardone got bought by Oreilly's. Lots of Cardone boxes at work with MasterPro part numbers on them... >_> If Empire are genuinely a good brand then great, but if Raxles is cheaper than the Dealer-excuse me, i just remembered a phone call I need to make.

Yeah, 220 a side sounds not unreasonable certainly better than oem. But I have to change my hubs when I upgrade my brakes anyway, I'll try warrantying this import direct unit first. All else fails I can still get my money back from the leprechaun after I buy the Raxles.
