steering wheel worn to metal.
so my steering wheel is peeling. I put a cheap walmart cover on but I didn't like it and took it off. now the foam is messed up like the picture shows. I don't want another wheel cover, but I'm not sure what sort of options I have. this is where I rest my hand while driving.

Just pick one up at the Junk Yard. I found a nice leather one that I am using now. Mine was ok but a little worn in spots so when I found the leather one I couldn't pass it up.

Lulz being had at taking a pic of your steering wheel while doing 75MPH on the freeway.
FWIW there will be no point in fixing the wheel if you wrench on the steering wheel with your hand. Known a few folks who do that and wreck steering wheels because of this habit.
Easiest thing would be to simply purchased a used steering wheel from the wreckers. All you need is the wheel, not the uber expensive airbag.
