93 Accord Brake Lamp Indication
93 Accord SE, 135K miles.
I recently started seeing BRAKE LAMP indication light on my dashboard. I have checked that all my brake lights are working fine. Also, the brake lamp indication comes on before I have stepped on the brake. The manual says that diagnostics are run only when the brake is applied.
Any clue what's going on?

My girlfriend's accord brake light was on but that was because she was low on brake fluid. After filling it up the light went away. Same thing happened on my civic as well. Filled it up and no prob.

What brake light is on? The one for the bulbs or the e-brake light?
If its the e-brake light, either the handel is up, or the switch is broken, or you are low on fluid.
If its the brake lamp indicator, and all the bulbs are working, take the light out, pull out the circuit board and see if its corroded. The lamp sensor works on resistance, if the board is corroded, the resistance is higher, which is equal to a burnt bulb, so the light comes on. I had the same problem in my car, picked up a set of used tail lights and it was good to go.

Re: 93 Accord Brake Lamp Indication (JDM_DC4_Fanatic)
The indicator light on is NOT e-brake. It is the BRAKE LAMP indication.
JDM_DC4_Fanatic: is there a central place for the circuit board or one per brake light (there are total of three brake lights for this model). Where exactly would I find this circuit board.
Thanks for all the feeback.

the boards are inside the tail lights. remove the 5 8mm nuts and pull out the tail lights. Then there are 2 phillips screws holding in plastic board in, and when you take it out, you will see the circuit board and bulbs, check to see any white or black marks on the board.

I am having the same problem with my 93 Accord LX
I will have to pull the tail lights out and check them... I did notice one of the tail lights has some condensation in them...
I guess I should check the brake fluid first eh.

tail light seals are very common and will cause problems check the harness and brake light failure sensor and bulb holders for corrosion

Re: 93 Accord Brake Lamp Indication
The Issue is what Sageuvagony stated. It is that sensor in the brake fluid cap. The rez can be full and it can still come on. Mine comes on on occasion, but then off 1-2 days later if not the next time i start my car. If i remove the cap and put it back on, the light goes out.
As you don't have ABS, there is no way it can be the rotor/pads.
