92 Burning oil at start up

I guess it has been doing this for a few months but when i start the car a bunch of blue-ish/gray smoke comes out the exhaust. Bad gaskets?

Could be leaking valve stem seals. The oil seeps past them while the engine is off. Could also be an indication of piston rings getting worn. They contract when cold. When they heat up, they expand enough to minimize the effect. Keep an eye on your oil level and you should be OK for quite a while unless the oil starts to foul your plugs.

+1^^^^

I owned a 90' EF hatch that would do that same thing and later on it would literally need a quart a week....honestly i would either look for another engine while you rebuild the current one....f22's arent hard to find in running condition....alot of "Pull-A-Part" salvage yards let engines go for $100 bucks....and really easy to find a good motor....just one route....good luck

Actually, my oil level has been going down pretty fast lately, I've had to put in oil twice (1 quart at a time) in the past 2 months.

Same thing happened on my DSM. Valve Stem Seals. Let it go long enough and the piston rings will crack. Or scar the cylinder block. Not good. Run a compression check. If everything clears your piston rings and cylinder block are ruled out.
