91 Accord Reverse Problem

91 Accord Reverse Problem
Ok...expertise needed once again. Car is at about 263k miles. It used to run smooth, but now, when i put the car in reverse, it starts shaking like crazy. When i step on the brake while its in reverse...it shakes even worse. Anyone know what may be the reason this is happening? It runs fine while in drive and neutral, not involuntary shaking, its only when its in reverse is when it shakes. Thanks guyz!!!

How about a loose/broken engine mount? In reverse the engine tries to lean forward; so the rear mount wants to push up against the body, the front mount wants to push downwards.
Or with the engine off, grab the valve cover & try to shake the engine around. Look for whatever's loose.

i think this is what JimBlake meant...but how do i go about knowing for sure if its the mount that the problem. Could it be that something is wrong with the transmission. I forgot to mention that its an automatic '91 EX.

I think its the motor mount. I had someone stand there...i shifted into reverse and they said that the motor jumped. Is this the problem? If it is the mount, then can someone give me the price range to have it repaired, or is it a simple DIY thing? Thanks again.
Another thing that happened to me today, is that i turned my car off to buy a newspaper, when i came back to start my car, it would start and die in like 2 seconds...could the motor mount be the problem as well because the motor jumps when i start my car? I tried to start it again, and it went on. Turned it off again and it shut off, kept doing it, and it kind of an off and on thing...
