91 accord misses/hesitates under light load between 1500-2000 rpm
91 accord misses/hesitates under light load between 1500-2000 rpm. this only happens when car is warmed up. engine idles perfect and accelerates perfectly with the miss/hesitation when rpm hits 1500-2000. checked everthing from cap, rotor, plugs, injector, throttle plate, iac. running out of option.

Most likely the egr valve. to test dissconnect the egr valves vacuum hose and test again. If the hesitation goes away then thats it. To fix, you'll need to drill out the brass plugs in the intake manifold behind the injectors then clean the carbon deposits in the egr passages. 4-6 plugs depending on the model. Also make sure to clean all the way through, right beneath the plug is a smaller hole that is sometimes missed. Once cleaned there are plugs from the dealer that can tap back in place of the old ones. Dealer has a slide hammer kit with drill bit and tap that makes it very simple to do.

yeah i had the same problem..drilling sucks so i took the egr valve off and used my sons paintball gun cleaner probe thing (it looks like a spiral wound piece of plastic) and used brake cleaner ..it took about 4 rags of crap but i eventually got all the carbon out without drillin any holes. when you get done with this warm up the car pull the pcv vacuum hose off and stick it in a can of seafoam , let it choke off the engine...wait 20 minutes and then rod the hell out of it...sheel run great then

Carbon build-up has restricted the EGR ports into the intake manifold runners.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Clean the carbon out of the EGR ports.
