I have an 88 accord lx that is carburated. I am having this problem that when I put a load on my engine, my car hesitates and sometimes dies completly as if a lack of fuel. It happens in all gears, and it is quite a mess especially when I am trying to merge onto the freeway. IN EXAMPLE - I have my foot to the floor while still losing speed or not accelerating at all. If I tap the gas (using my accelerator pump to get it going) It will accelerate for an instant and then hesitate again. It is a 5-speed and I am beginning to wonder if it may have somthing to do with a sensor or the fuel cutoff relay. I have replaced the distributor cap + rotor, the spark plugs, wires, the ignition coil, fuel pump, the main fuel filter under the car by the tank and the auxilery fuel filter under the hood. I also have checked the battery + wires, and the accelerator pump, all working normally. I also wonder if it might be some sort of vaccum leak. Its just when I put my foot on the gas, my car either putters and dies or shakes violently with an increase of rpm's and gets over it and drives smooth for a couple minutes normal again. I also can be crusing at a constant speed and in an instant it happens and I lose speed unless I floor the gas. I am really concerned my only transportation is on its way out. Is there anything I am missing?? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

the same exact thing happens to me except for the fact that i have a 91 accord lx it feels like i lose power as if its dying out. can anyone help me

Im going to make a new post (same title) so more ppl will look at it during the day--2 posts mean more results cuz i cant drive my car anywhere when its driving like this!!!
