Default 87 accord problems helppp

First off i know this is the wrong year for this thread. But there is no thread for my year.

Secondly. Motor is A20A1 (carborated 2.0)

New plugs and wires.

Problems.

1) Randomly smokes (not all the time, but usually)

2) Sometimes it will want to idle high 2800-3500 (weather clutch is in or im in gear driving, it will try to accelerate to get to that RPM)

3) Other times it will idle super low and kill itself. (usually smokes really bad when this problem is occurring.)

4) Cruising speed in town light throttle causes car to shake.

5) Hole in the top egr pipe running from header to EGR (I cant find a replacement, everthing i see says its "discontinued".... Now I know your going to say get an EGR block off plate but i cant order those either that i have found. Also blocking off the EGR valve (there is no sensor on the valve) delete the entire system and i can take off both EGR pipes from header to egr and put a bolt in them?)

Ive ran 2 cans of sea foam through the vac system.

Try the local salvage yard.

nationwide salvage listings: http://www.car-part.com/

cheapest parts around (if there's one near you): http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx

I have tried the salvage yards. Nothing there. Those website dont offer the pipe. Just the EGR valve.

Put out the call on the honda-tech market place. Also try a nationwide search of craigslist for '87s being parted: http://www.adhuntr.com/

That will help me find the pipe. But i really need to know if i can just eliminate the system by rigging up a block up, and putting a bolt in the EGR and the header. Because at cruise speed light throttle the car chuggs like the EGR is clogged anyways. I want to know how to delete the system. And the other problems i talked about i would like to know how to fix them as well.

Being a mechanical EGR, you should be able to block it off.

Seafoam only gets the valves. You probably need to clean the intake. Possibly rebuild the carb.

Whats the distributor look like? What about your timing?

Dizzy looks good. I blocked off the EGR still having most of the problems except the chugging at cruising speeds.

Still can't figure out why the idle is so sparatic. Sometimes its perfect, other times it wants to rev high, other times will rev low and die on me. Makes driving almost impossible.

Don't know much about the 3rd gens....I would inspect the fast idle unloader.....shut the car off when at temp, within ~20 minutes you re-start the car and it wants to idle at like 2,500 rpms???

Auto trans.....Has a small "miss" at around 45 mph?

no 5 speed.

Randomly while driving the idle will want to go to 2500-4000 rpms, and it will actually make my car accelerate. Its crazy. Other times when i pull up to a stop light and push in the cluth itll idle down and die. Not sure what the deal it.
