2002 Honda Accord Rmp jumps
Hi guys.
. I can use an advice, my 2002 honda accord rmp jumps around 2000 while driving and odometer at 60km. The car shakes but when I shut off the car and restart it goes away. Then come back after awhile. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check for any stored codes - I'll guess you are in Canada, so I'm not sure if there are parts stores that will do this for free. Yes, if you have a 4 cyl, it could be the ICM but at the same time a "strange" trans issue (again assuming an auto) could mask itself in such a way that you think it is an engine issue.
Cost, well again it sounds like you are not in the US - so I can only guess. If you do it yourself the ICM is 55~60 and will take a little of you time to remove it from the dist and install the new one. One thing to think about is replacing the whole dist - yes that is a bit far out there but - for that you save the time to dismantle the old one hoping you don't mess anything else up. A new one is ~140 or so and most of them come with a new cap and rotor (not sure how old the current ones are?), new external o-ring and internal shaft seal....have any signs of oil leaks around the dist area?
Anyway I'm making some "guesses" which I shouldn't do but was just trying to offer some additional information to think about.
Would you confirm the engine size (4 or 6 cyl) and trans (auto or manual).

Thanks for the information . It's a 4 auto, I'm think it might be a tran. When it was shifting can feel it kinda slipping and the rmp dropped to 1000.

You will know if it's slipping or power is completely cutting off at the time the rpm is jumping. I guess when you said jump I was thinking it was going both up and down but if it's just going up and it's slipping then you will know.
