2001 Honda Accord EX Coupe Parking Brake indicator stays on until the car is warm
Hi all,
I have a minor issue that has been bothering me with my parking brake indicator light. Usually (but not always) when I start my car, I release my e-brake but the indicator on the dash stays lit up ( approx. for the first 1-5 minutes after the car has been started). As the car warms up, the light goes away but returns when I depress the brake pedal and goes away when I release the brake pedal (approx. 6-9 minutes after the car has been started). After it has been running for about 10 minutes, the issue goes away entirely.
As I said, it is a minor issue, but it has been driving me crazy. The fluid level under the hood is fine (I've checked multiple times) and the brake pads have plenty of meat on them.
This happens more frequently and lasts longer during colder temperatures but it also happens during the summer months although it doesn't do it every day. It only happens when the car has been sitting over night.
Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

That only happens when the fluid is low, so if the fluid isn't low, it's likely the sensor in the reservoir or the sensor on the handle itself.
