Default 2001 accord clutch hydraulics

Hi folks,

I just replaced the clutch master cylinder in my 01 Accord. Everything went well but I have noticed after a couple of days what seems to be a very small leak around the hydraulic fitting where the hard line to the slave cylinder is connected. The line is screwed into an adapter which in turn is pressure-fitted and held with a clip onto the master cylinder itself, and this leak is around the threaded fitting which is screwed into the adapter.

Is there a rubber o-ring or something that I missed that's supposed to go in there? I put a new o-ring between the adapter and the master cyl. The connection is snugged down quite tight so I'm not sure why it would be leaking unless there is a little bit of dirt in there preventing a perfect seal.

Could be contamination, scratches, pitting, all sorts of things. Looks like you need to remove the connection and investigate.

Yeah, that was my plan. So there's no O-ring that's supposed to go in there, correct?

In the flare fitting? No. I have seen lines that weren't properly lubricated before assembly twist, gall and become deformed causing leaks. Not sure about your situation though.

It surprises me that your 01 accord has this issue cause this was something Honda repair back in 99 there was a bulletin in regards to the clutch master cylinder and the slave master cylinder not work result to the clutch pedal feeling spongy or stuck to the floor having Honda techs replace both and the clutch line....to get to the point I'm making make sure there are no leaks throughout the line if none detected then buy an after-market slave cylinder that that is cast iron or something to that nature reuse the same o-ring if it still good if not you have to order one from factory or tasauto.com, last don't worry about changing line like I said if there is no leak don't waste the money and the rest is history....I experienced this in my 99 accord and it was not fun cause it was stuck at my job

So I know these are old posts, but I'm desperately searching for the adapter to connect the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder on my 2001 Accord. The mechanic working on it broke the adapter trying to remove it and no one seems to have a clue on replacing it. I've been told I need to replace the hydrauline line also, but it seems the adapter would still be needed. Meanwhile Accord has cobwebs .... HELP!

it looks like there is some sort of thing that goes on the end of the line, honda calls it an xring at part 15
