Default 2000 Accord EX - 4cyl vtec - Change Distributor O-Ring help

My distributor is leaking oil and I want to change the o-ring but am a bit confused. Do I have to set piston #1 to TDC before I start and if yes, how do I do that. Does the rotor just pull off and then I unbolt the dist or is the rotor attached with a screw? I'm a little lost on the exact procedure.

disconnect battery neg terminal, Mark Dist to block with white paint; pull all electrical plugs from dist, remove dist plastic cap, mark rotor position, remove rotor, unbolt dist, replace o-ring, oil new ring, re-bolt dist back, put plastic cap back on... ?

u dont need to mark the distributor for your year of car ... just remove it and cut the old oring off and roll on the new oring ... if ur talking about the internal seal u need to say so ... they are different

If you also make note the firing order of the wires spark plug wires on the cap that helps as well.

No need to remove the rotor, just mark the posision of the rotor before you remove the distributor. If you do this you do not need to set the engine at TDC. Only reason to set the engine at TDC is if you have no idea what position the camshaft and distributor were in when removed.

The distributor key that fits into the camshaft end can really only be installed one way so there should be no way to install it 180* out without forcing it together.

Just doing the o-ring - not the internal seal. Thanks!
