1997 accord cruise control

1997 accord, 4cylinder, automatic. cruise control does not stay engaged. when i press the set switch, the dash indicator comes on for approximately 2 seconds and goes off. the cruise does not engage at all.

loose lower cable reel connection was my issue when i had this problem.
