Default Trunk Floor Sound Deadner

That **** that you guys scrape off of the floor and trunk to save weight, its job is to insualte sound.

What is this stuff called, and where do you get it from?

I don't know what you would call the stock stuff other than sound deadening material but people serious about audio use stuff like Dynomat and other products that are similar.

Maybe you would get a better response from the A/V/S forum.

It's essentially a tar compound.

If you want to replace it you've got a few options.

Dynamat Xtreme works well but is a complete bitch to remove (personal experience)

Breadboard (cheaper version of dynamat)

Roofing tar (sheets of actual asphalt/tar you roll in, smell goes away after about a week)

Do some googling and you can find a lot.

well im not asking to find a cheaper version of dynamat.

A while back when the connection at my Fuel Sending unit(pump) was lose, instead of dropping the tank, we just cut the sheet metal to access it. I heard about the Tar crap you roll on. I will probably try that.

Cutting near the gas tank, great idea.
