Bought what was supposed to be a 98 f23a1 block for a 98 accord. I am an idiot apparantly when it comes to hondas and faild to check the casting number. After I got it installed with the f23 vtec head and into the car it will idle fine but dies upon acceleration. We realized there was a problem when we got the knock sensor code and no place to install the knock sensor. Is it possible to make this work or am I shafted and will now have to rebuild the f23 block? This car belongs to a friend of mine and it has taken me 2 months already. I am going nuts. Any help would be appreciated.

the bore on the f23 is bigger than the f22. The ecu will be off because of this. sounds like getting the f23 block for it would be the most simple fix.

is you f23 block obd1? if so just use a harness and run obd1 ecu until you can get the proper block.

if not, just hook the knock sensor up, and stash it away somewhere. just the bore being bigger should not cause the car to stall, i've ran b18's on a d15 ecu before temporarily and they ran ok, not the best but they never stalled.

Are you sure the map and tps wire connectors didn't get swapped....idles but as soon as you give it gas it dies....hummm seen that a 100 times.

The knock sensor would not cause this, IMO.

Awesome man this fixed it. I guess I should have payed attention when my nephew was helping me take it apart. I didn't know they had they same.connector. Thats crazy. Thanks for the help. Now. I just have to find a place to mount the knock sensor.
