1996 Accord P1381 and Odometer not working
Hey guys, I have a code 1381 cylinder position sensor interruption. I have replaced the distributor and alternator. After replacing the distributor everything was great the CEL went off but 2 days later came back. The issue before the swap and now is thst it takes a few times trying to start before it will stay running. It turns over aND dies. Once it runs everything runs great. The odometer stopped working before replacing the distributor abd began working after replacing it. Not sure if they're related but Ihave been chasing this issue and am looking for help or advice. Also new plugs wires and I replaced all the o rings and valve gasket recently so the plugs aren't fouled, Thanks alot.

If it is having trouble starting try Scotty Kilmer's Youtube video 'Fixing a car that cranks but doesn't start up" and "Does your car crank too long before it starts up". In short, check for fuel delivery problems first - specifically, the fuel pressure. Your fuel filter may be blocked or the fuel pump may be weak. It is also possible that the fuel injectors are clogged. He has a video "How to clean fuel injectors on your car" as well for this.

Verify battery is fully charged.
Verify battery connections are clean and tight.
Verify battery leads are attached correctly and not corroded or damaged.
Verify grounds are clean and tight.
Main grounds are attached to the battery, transmission, body near battery, engine mount bonding jumper, and harness attached to the boost valve on the intake manifold.
Verify spark plugs/spark plug wire/coil and cap are in good condition.
Verify pickup coil resistance is within spec 800-1500Ω.
Verify electrical connection between distributor and harness is clean and tight.
Verify the pins in the connector are not corroded or damaged.
Verify continuity of wiring from the PCM to the distributor.

Re: 1996 Accord P1381 and Odometer not working
Sorry if it's wrong to post this here but this seems to be a similar problem to what is happening with my 96 Accord, except the P1381 is a Camshaft Position Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction.

I'll see if any of these suggestions also work with my problem.
