Dad's 95 Accord is having some shift issues, I know the 6th gen Accords had tranny issues on the autos.

It is shifting hard....ie not smoothly transitioning through gears, specially 1 & 2.
In 3rd it grinds just a tad bit.

I didn't find any recalls or TSBs, any help would be appreciated.

what is the condition of the fluid and when was it last changed

Cloudy with metal shrads, no record of last change from previous owner. We just got the car a month or so back.

i would change it asap but chances are your tranny is done

I figured as much, is something like that even rebuildable and how much is a used one?

It misses 3rd on low speeds under 30 mph and low revs.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated, don't want to put $400 to drop the tranny if its a simpler fix.
