Default 1995 Accord Engine Replacement

I daily drive a 1995 Accord Wagon, LX 5 speed. It has about 230,000 miles and I've had it for 5 years. Recently it has been leaking oil from a few places, is showing codes for EGR valve and O2 sensor and the timing belt is due to be changed soon. Rather than tackle all those jobs I'm thinking about having the motor replaced with a low mileage replacement motor from Japan. There is a place in Riverside, CA called "Honda & Foreign Auto" that sells imported replacement motors that they claim have 35k-55k miles on them. They sell for $275 and I know a mechanic in town who will drop it in for me for $500.
Assuming I can find a matching engine (F22B2):

What are the best ways I can check this engine before purchasing it?

What parts should I change before installing it? I'm thinking about changing the clutch, timing belt and tensioner, water pump, radiator hoses, spark plugs, inspect the valve clearance and valve cover and upper and lower plug well seals. Are there any other parts or seals that would be important to change before installing the motor?

Any other advice for this situation?

Thanks!

Unless there is blow bythat is causing seals to pop, even after replacement, verify the valves are adjusted and do a leak down test.
If everything checks out fine I would not bother replacing the engine unless it is making some big end noises.
Most of the electronics on the JDM engines are not compatible with USDM engines. So even if you got a JDM engine all the bits from your old engine will still need to be reused.
Intake and a few other items are considerably different on these two engines.

I'd suggest repairing the current problems that the engine has as you will need to deal with those anyway as the non compatibility issue will require you to replace items anyway.
Check Rockauto for prices on parts you may need.
