Default 1992 Honda Accord Ex (Ignition Problems)

OK this is a simple question and probably will get a simple answer i just want to make sure, ok here's my problem in the last 2 days i've tried to start my honda and when i put my key in the car and try to turn it, it stays stuck wont go clockwise or counterclockwise, after messing with it, it finally releases and my car turns on But! it seems all my lights from brake to srs stay on and if i try to move my gears to R or N it makes that sound that the car is already running it seems my ignotion switch gets stuck, well after a while moving the key i feel the switch release and go to's the run position and everything works fine till i turn car off and sometimes when i go back to park position. But today all that happen and my brake lights stay on and are bright am trying to figure out if its my switch doing that or my braking switch that is under my pedal that is stuck plus this has never happen to me before and my car only just hit 170k miles for being a 92.. i try to push the brake pedal but no response, so i had to disconnect the neg cable from battery till i figure this out.

Any help is apprcaited..

it kinda sounds like a worn ignition switch..but then again, it also sounds like a bad brake switch...when this happens again, check your brake lights and see if they are on as if someone is applying the brakes. if the brakes light up, and no one is pressing the brake pedal, then you got a bad brake switch

yea thats an ignition switch prob most likely. i had the same problem with my honda. swapped that for a new one, problem solved. you wanna test it 1st though. no sense in wasting money.

Thanks for the answers, it might be that the ignition switch is beyond worn out and is probably messing with my brakes, on what PilotOnDubs said my brake light stays on like its being pressed down when i go into my car and press the brake pedal no response at all, so am guessing it might be part of my switch, plus it would take me 15mins moving my key around before i could hear the release and then my car would start...

Thanks again for the information and i'll go out and buy the new ignition switch and comment back...
