1990 Honda accord ect sensor code 6
Hello i have 1990 honda accord f20a5 engine
the ect sensor has broken in the coolant house(hole), and there is no connection to ecu anymore. So the error code 6 is on ecu now.
For hacking the ecu, i connect 330 ohm resistance between d13 (ect ecu) and d22 (sensor ground) to see if the error code disappear. But it not.
still i have error code 6, even there is a voltage 0,6v between d13 and d22 pins and also reset ecu for clearing codes.
What is the problem, should i replace the ect and should it be in coolant house?
what does ecu looking? Does it looking for a change of volts over time?
Does constant(fix) voltage will not stop error code?
Thanks for your replies.
Additionally if someone may share the ecu (obd1) source code and pinouts , i can understand that what the ecu is real checking in its software?
ecu code is:37820-PT5-F02 (obd1)
Thanks..

Re: 1990 Honda accord ect sensor code 6
Ok thanks, i will try to fix it by a bolt extractor.
And i found that my first connection was wrong.
The ECT - TW sensor should be between d13 yellow-green and d22 green-white

Re: 1990 Honda accord ect sensor code 6
Let me tell you how to use a bolt extractor. You will drill a hole in the middle of the sensor ever so slightly smaller than the extractor you will be using. Then you will tap the bolt extractor in. You don't need to go nuts, just a quarter inch to 3/8 of an inch will do the trick. The bolt extractor is lefty tighty so as you unscew it, the bolt will try to go into the sensor, which obviously since the sensor is lefty loosey it will pull the sensor out.
Good luck
