Default Tires

So time to upgrade tires,

While doing my sway bar bushing install I noticed I had a nail in my tire, got that fixed and then today doing the rear camber trick I have ANOTHER nail in the rear tire.

Added to the fact all 4 have camber wear/alignment from when I purchased them I want to get new tires. Shouldn't be a big deal right?

Wrong, right now they have some baller JDM tires from Yoko (215/45/16) Looking on my main tire site (EdgeRacing) they only have one in this size and it's Falken Azenis @ $90 a pop. If I go up to a smidgen wider 225/45/16 I have a wider selection. I know I was running 215/50/15 on the ITR's so I'm figuring the 225/45/16 will work out well.

Anyone have any input or suggestions? Most I would like to pay realistically is 60-70 a tire. I also want to keep the 45 series sidewall .

What's your wheel offset? 225s might be in rub a dub dub territory.

It's probably +42mm. I think that's going to rub if your car is lowered.

Get some Neo Gens. I always deal with camber, and atleast the Neo gens offset that a little... plus they look good.

I'll be honest, I haven't looked at the prices, but my friend has been auto-xing all summer on new Dunlop direzza Z1 *spec that he LOOOOVES and I've been a passenger in his car a few times...the grip is pretty badass.

Edit: just took a quick look at prices, they are way out of your specified price range.

Seems I have to upgrade my price range regardless, I can't seem to find a decent tire for the $70 range, I was getting some really nice Hankooks for the ITR's but looks like my wheel size I'll have to go up to $100 minimum.

Also I'm less concerned with the type of tire as the last two posts are concerned with. And more so the tire sizing.

225/45/16 or 215/45/16, as the 225 opens up my options a bit more on tire selection over 215 (only one or two tires at best) but I'm concerned with rubbing, etc.

Both have a minimum wheel width of 7" technically but I'd like some confirmation
