Hey did you get the issue with the title worked out, have you found the original owner yet?
It would suck to run into issues with legal ownership with you putting so much time and effort into the ole girl.

So here is a quick update, no pics sorry.

Got paid on Wednesday, went to the junk yard and purchased a new drivers side fender, pulled it off an 88 or 89 (probably 89) lx-i, paid 50$ for it, both front turn signals, and both bumper mounts.

Got all that intalled, it fits pretty nicely.

The guy I had boughten it from did some ****ed up **** to the car. Dash is destroyed in several places, and the front bumper was/is all cracked and broken, the two mounts in the front are both broken, so it isn't quite flush on the drivers side, but I also think that the frame or something may of gotten a little bit bent when he hit a rock, lol.

Today while I was at work, my dad went and met the original owner, they filled out the paperwork for a sheriffs title and had it notarized, well the notary accidently wrote her name instead of orig owners, and scratched hers out... she said it would be fine.

Took it to the courthouse, lady laughed at that. Just need to get the notary to sign and fill out a form stating she ****ed up.

So, I got a 40 day temp registration on the car. Going to time the ignition this weekend and adjust the carb a little bit here and there.

Last time I drove the car, I was just about home and the car just randomly died. I think it's because the timing is off, dizzy is turned all the way up right now.

Sooooooo..... tried to time it today, couldn't find the marks on the flywheel... left the dizzy turned all the way up... runs ok.

I need to get a new throttle cable. Current one is really ****ed up.

Car dies sometimes and sometimes sticks at 2-4k and for some reason fluctuates and climbs a lot, by itself. Not sure what to do at this point.

Some pictures of what it looks like now after getting a new fender and blinkers for the bumper. Still need to fix the alignment of fender and bumper. Not sure why the bumper isn't fitting right.. Still need a hood.

broken antenna

passenger side

drivers side

new fender on! need to move it down just a touch.

still having engine troubles. couldn't locate the timing marks on the flywheel, and the carb needs a tune or rebuilt. probably going to get a weber conversion kit for it when I have the money.

apparently it has new: clutch, flywheel, fuel pump, fuel filters, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, cv axles, tie rods, and ball joints

Today I decided it was time to install my sound system.

Took the head unit, sub, amp, and all wires out of my truck and started wiring the new harness for the head unit in the car.

After a couple hours of routing wires, wiring, everything fits nicely, is hidden, and works excellent.

Congrats on all your hard work! I'd rather take out the carb motor and throw in one with fuel injection. Still, the car looks really nice!

+1

When money becomes less of a restraint, a FI system would really look cool in that car!

Btw, regarding the bumper thing, be sure to check the mounting brackets below the hedlights and below the wings. Those usually get bent at the tiniest push and they can really screw up the bumper alignment (had that myself). Also, look at the plastic pins that hold the bumper to the rest of the car... I had a friend coming with his car to get his redone and when we dissassembled it, I found a piece of iron wire holding the bumper in place... :S

The two plastic pieces that slide into the bolt on the side are in perfect condition and are both inserted into the screws. The previous owner hit a big rock and damaged the drivers side fender, that may have something to do with it.

Anyways, was told that something in the dizzy was bad, went and got a refurbished dizzy, put it in, car still runs the same exact shitty way.

I am not sure what the hell is wrong with it.

I was then working under the hood a bit, checking stuff out, seeing if anything else needed replacing. Well, guess what? I found out that the dizzy vacuum was zip tied onto the dizzy... I am not sure if I have to replace the entire thing or what, do any of you know if this is a separate part or if I need to get a new dizzy. - Images below

thats a ignition control vaccum you just need to relplace and make sure the long arm on it with the hole in the end goes on correct inside the dizzy, i changed mine but had to remove the dizzy to fix it on. but its easy.

Keep it up! If you plan on keeping the carb set up and you don't have to worry about emissions, go with a weber. A lot easier to deal with!
