Not the last, either, on this site.

I'm keeping my mouth shut.

But nice to see you trying something different with the engine, I just don't see the "value" in using a JDM block (IE stronger internals, better numbers, etc.)

Picked up my F23A1 from a local yard for $550 after taxes with just 32k miles, carfax'd. Long blocks with a few more miles run $400 all day.

well i did not look aroud localy .. i prolly could have found a deal if i looked for long enough but i only had 2 weeks off school and i wanted something quick...

as for picking a f23a over a1 there is no performance values that i know of. and tbh i wish i would have looked around a bit more localy because now i have parts that are pretty much useless. and the ppl at jdmenginedepot have still not gotten back to me on the missing / broken parts.

but im happy i have a fully running car. i could have spent 500$ over the period of a year on coolant and could have keept my engine till it actually threw something out, or seized. but i drive 70 miles a day to and from school. 5 days a week so i needed something more reliable.

On my f23a1 motor it has a plug in it ...
Im guessing its some EXTRA JDM emmisions thing.

If i remember i just cut the connection being that my harness did not have the other end.
That's the engine temperature sensor. My f22b2 cd5 had that sensor, then i swapped a jdm f23a which had a bolt where that senor was. All i did was remove the bolt and replaced the sensor there

The sensor in question is on the earlier models for temp gauge on the dash. The later models utilized the reading in the ecu for the gauge, eliminating the extra sensor. *Note: this is also why the early and late model gauge clusters for the 98-02 accords won't swap. The temp gauge is designed different between them.
